On 08 September, during the course of a meeting of the Board of Directors held in the Inniskillings Museum, Enniskillen Castle, the Directors launched the 2027 Military Heritage Research Bursary.
Arising from its objectives, the Trust will award a bursary to an individual conducting original and innovative research into an aspect of Irish Military Heritage, and the Story of the Irish Soldier.
On a world-wide basis, talented undergraduate, postgraduate, postdoctoral students, and researchers; early career researchers; independent scholars; and established authors; are encouraged to participate in the process.
The bursary commemorates Major-General P.F. Nowlan RIP, a founding member of the Trust, who was elected its first Chairman (1999 – 2011), and remained as an active and highly respected member of its Board of Directors (1999 – 2015).
The Terms of the 2027 Bursary are recorded in the Our Projects of the Trust’s Website and can be accessed via the following link: https://www.militaryheritage.ie/mhit-projects/mhit-bursary/
