Military Tours

Military Tours - AAR Armoured Car in a Clare Ambush

Military Tours of historic sites and battlefields are conducted by Tour Companies, Historical Societies, and Regimental Associations, all taking great pride in their activities.

With the advent of key anniversaries from World Wars 1 and 2, tours of European battlefields are very popular. Likewise, tours associated with the 1916 rising and the War of Independence, are available to interested parties.

Affordable programmes are carefully designed and constructed. They provide the extra dimension, visiting locations where the events occurred, led by experts who share their knowledge of what happened.

They provide an “on the ground” experience, following in the footsteps of those who were involved in some of Ireland’s defining moments and keeping their selfless service and valour alive. The number of participants is normally kept small to maintain quality, and accessibility to sites that aren’t normally visited or accessible.

The Trust encourages those in charge of such tours to provide information for posting in this web site. Likewise, any necessary changes to the information concerning these military tours posted on this web site would be welcomed.

For the information of researchers, a directory of Military Tours is provided on this web site under Directory Listings.
