The Military History Society of Ireland was founded in 1949. The aim of the Society is to promote the study of military history, and in particular the history of warfare in Ireland and of Irishmen and women in war. The flagship of the Society, The Irish Sword, is a twice yearly publication, renowned for its scholarly treatment of military history.

Cathal Brugha Barracks (Irish: Dún Chathail Bhrugha) is an Irish Army barracks in Rathmines, Dublin. A key military base of the Irish Defence Forces, it is the headquarters of 2 Brigade,[4] and houses the Military Archives of the Department of Defence.

Field Day: Glen of Imaal
Field Day: Glen of Imaal and the 1798 Rebellion.
The field-day will include visits to Coolmoney Camp and Cemetery Hill in the Glen, and sites in North Wexford and South Wicklow associated with the 1798 Rebellion.
