St. Catherine's Church was an Episcopalian or Church of Ireland church built circa 1805. At that time, it was situated on the grounds of Newport House in Newport, County Mayo.

Wreath Laying Ceremony
A commemorative wreath laying ceremony will be held in St Catherines Church Yard, Newport, County Mayo, at 4pm on Friday the 4th of September 2026, to mark the 80th anniversary of the death of Major Thomas Flacon Hazel, formerly of the of the Royal Inniskillings and later the Royal Flying Corps and RAF.
He was without doubt one of Ireland most decorated, best and bravest war time aviators.
